Zano: Gateway Address inflation forces ~1 month chain restart

Post-mortem: ~36.9M unauthorized ZANO before rewind

4M ZANO twice (29 Aug and 25 Sep) plus a huge fUSD mint of the same class. Indistinguishable supply is why recovery chose a month-scale restart over selective burn.

Recovery ops cite developer fund, personal funds, and exchange replay; Gateway Addresses disabled. Same incident; fresh post-mortem detail.

Late Sep 2026: Zano halted after a Gateway Address flaw (Hard Fork 6) let unauthorized ZANO and Freedom Dollar (fUSD) enter circulation.

Recovery moved from a short rewind to restarting around block 3,833,000 (pre-HF6), wiping roughly a month of history on the recovered chain.

4M ZANO on 25 Sep, plus a massive fUSD mint via the same class of flaw; unauthorized coins were indistinguishable from legitimate supply.

Recovery path cites developer and personal funds plus exchange replay of reversed withdrawals; Gateway Addresses disabled in recovery. Team says ordinary wallet keys and privacy were not compromised.

Hard-fork accounting bugs can force a history wipe that hits honest users and attackers together.

When minted supply is indistinguishable on-chain, selective burn fails and rewind becomes the recovery tool.

Pulse lesson for wrap / gateway / teleport paths: ask what unauthorized mint looks like on-chain and whether recovery means pause, rewind, or users eating the window.
